In my column in this month’s Champion newsletter, I thanked APD employees and waiver support coordinators for their hard work in serving our customers. Of course, I also should have included providers and family members, who are daily or frequently the front line in the APD system. It is through the dedicated services of our entire service delivery family that our efforts result in the hands-on care that our customers need and deserve. That is what it’s all about!
It was brought to my attention that some feelings were hurt by the unintentional oversight in the column. I humbly apologize and assure all of our providers and family members that they are appreciated beyond measure. In this New Year, I look forward to our continued teamwork and mutual dedication as we serve Floridians with developmental disabilities.
